Managing Election Stress: A Guide to Staying Calm and Focused
Election Day can be a whirlwind of emotions, from excitement to anxiety. It’s more than just a democratic ritual; it’s a stress-inducing event that can push opinions and family dynamics to their limits. Staying centered amidst the tension is challenging, but there are strategies to help.
Methods for Managing Election Stress
Our Gift to You
Our gift to you is the best-selling self-hypnosis audio recording by Liza Boubari – Relax and Unwind. Please download the recording and save it to your device so that you can listen to it at your leisure. Find a quiet and comfortable place as you allow hypnosis to happen.
Breathing Exercise
One simple technique is the 4-7-8 breathing exercise: inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7, and exhale for 8. This practice can instantly bring calm and reduce cortisol, the stress hormone. Furthermore, setting boundaries on news exposure can limit stress triggers. Remember, a steady stream of heated commentary can wear down your mental resilience. Instead, tune in selectively and focus on calming activities—consider relaxing music or silence during your commute or downtime.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is another powerful tool for managing Election Day stress. It’s designed to help you take control of your subconscious mind and reduce stress responses. Offering a chance to reset and refocus, a session can make a difference when navigating high-stress periods.
Ultimately, Election Day is fleeting, but managing your stress well is a lifelong skill. Choose to engage in ways that align with your well-being, whether through conscious breathing, hypnotherapy, or mindful media consumption. And remember, you have control over your inner peace—regardless of the outcome.

Can I Hypnotize Myself?
Yes, it’s called self-hypnosis. Hypnotherapy empowers you by providing tools to manage stress in your daily life. You can learn self-hypnosis techniques, enabling you to enter a state of relaxation whenever needed. These techniques can be practiced at home, allowing you to take control of their stress levels independently. My audio recordings can help guide you.
Self-hypnosis is so powerful that I have undergone several dental surgeries without anesthesia or painkillers. You can see me on YouTube having dental surgery with only self-hypnosis.

Greetings greetings greetings and welcome to Heal Talk Tuesdays. This is Liza.
It’s so good to be here with you, isn’t it?
I don’t know where you are today, but today
we’re going to have a wonderful conversation.
Maybe it can become a discussion.
And yet, the topic for today is how you manage
stress, especially today, on Election Day.
This American tradition that happens every four
years nationwide and every two years statewide.
And also at the end of the show, I’m going to give you a link for you to text and get
a audio recording for you to relax and unwind.
And that is going to be my gift to you to help you manage your stress.
Either tonight, tonight or tomorrow morning.
So let us begin.
Using that election and stress, they go hand in hand.
And this is the first time leading up to this day on November 5.
And also until the results are completely
published and notified that people go through.
Excruciating, panic and anxiety and stress
level blood pressure comes up and no wonder.
Because the smallest mundane things affect us, let alone this.
And if you believe you have a stake in it, then of course your stress level is higher.
Believe it or not, it’s not just regular stress.
I mean, it’s jaw clenching, avoiding one another to a point
that I’ll tell you a about a client of mine who came in.
This is a true story about a week ago.
I had a client come in and let me know that her stress was to the roof.
Panic and anxiety happening because they got
into an argument, actually her fiance got into
an argument with her brother soon to be
brother in laws with each other because they’re on two different sides.
And it happened at a family gathering.
Lowing behold, after talking to her, her
stress is up because she is getting the, she’s
feels that she’s in the middle between her
brother and her fiance because they got into
a heated discussion about politics and on two
different spectrums, each one having their own
views and then in God heated.
Her stress level went up, not so much the
men, but hers because she felt she was in the
middle and she didn’t know how to calm them down.
At the end, they both agreed to have different
views, but she was already feeling it.
She was going through that panic and anxiety
and came in because of her own stress.
So what happens is the psychological effects
of stress and election, the science be, behind.
It is, it can be about election, it can be about just about anything because the brain
releases something, releases cortisol.
When stress hormones are affected and it’s
fine on smaller doses like what I experienced
today calling the credit card company, finding
out why something is happening and then giving
me explanation of if you apply for more than five
cards in two years, then the credit companies
ding you and it’s like, wow, the stress level
could have been up here, but the moment I got
an explanation, the moment there was an
information and my stress level was up there, the
moment I got clarified, I even thanked them,
I was appreciative of her explaining to me
of why certain things affect our credit card.
You know, once the unknown becomes known, then we are in full control.
And yet understanding that the elections
other than the state level, the big one is not
in your control, but electoral votes, the people
who have the voting not so much of the person,
each person, we have full control over our state representatives, senators, congress.
People, they’re not the presidential.
So but the arguments come down to other
things and if we put the arguments aside and
realize what you are feeling inside, you
have full control over your own stress level.
So that in itself, when it hits that constant
news alert, endless debates and you are consumed
with that information from morning at seven
o’clock, you open the news, even when you’re
working, you are bombarded with news and it
doesn’t matter which spectrum you are, which
side of the pendulum you are.
And you are listening to heated opinions of others.
You are listening to other people giving their
opinions that affect your stress, then your
cortisol goes into overdrive.
And that creates internal irritability, anxiety and hits you into fatigue.
That’s exactly what happens in your body.
That’s what was happening to her.
So I know it’s a funny comparison for me to say it’s like
our brains are on a constant in voluntary cardio workout.
And if you haven’t worked out in such a long
time and then you go in and you see someone
working out at full speed and you say, I can
do that and you go on full speed, recognizing
that your body may endure it because you’re either showing off or saying, I’ve done it
before I can do it again.
And then the moment you stop, you go and sit
on a chair or a bench, then the body will go into this.
It was like, wait a minute, I haven’t had time to manage this.
And that’s what happens.
The body needs time to break down and calm itself.
So I know it might be difficult for some people,
maybe you, but set boundaries on listening to the muse.
Taking mom to an appointment this morning, she says, I’ll come, you’re not listening
to the news and I said, I hardly, hardly ever have my radio on when I’m driving.
I do not because I like to be in the silence.
I like to have my own thoughts.
And if I were to put music, it would be either classical or very much zen music.
And so the exposure to media, it’s realizing
unless we have a stake in it and I know some.
People are on that level that they have to
know, frankly, by this evening when I go home, I will get to know.
If I want to, I at lunch break, I can tune in to
and open the news to see where it’s happening.
And then yet, I can just let go and concentrate on my business and my clients.
Because if I were to look at something else, the
next client that comes in, that news has already
affected me knowingly and unknowingly and
unknowingly and unknowingly, it’s going to
generate this energy that affects my clients.
So why would I want to put myself and my client
in a place that I exude a whole different energy.
So I choose not to and so can you practice
this four, seven, eight breathing technique,
which is you take a nice deep breath.
You hold a one, two, three, four counts and you exhale four counts.
Doing this four count breathing technique
will calm your body, your nervous system down automatically.
And I actually remember that you can control
only so much and no matter who’s around where you are, what you’re doing.
It’s like a US, a US, a UCLA game.
It’s like the defense in the court, there’s
the defendant’s attorney and the prosecutor’s
attorney.
It’s their job to do the best and stand in
front of the jury, stand in front of the judge
and present their case fight for their client and do the best.
And then after the case, after the day is over, they go home.
And I know they take all that information.
Sometimes our job we take it home with us.
And I want you to realize that the end of
the day, the attorneys, they do get together,
they might even talk about the different cases with each other.
They have a drink with each other and so do the politicians.
At the end of the day, it is being human.
It is realizing that after all the rivalries,
either US, US, US, LA, daughters and Yankees,
the celebration, we all come to a point of realizing that this two shall pass.
And in two years or in four years, there will
be another election and there will be another heated.
Yes, it is going to affect you in a different way.
Some will argue, “My life will be over.”
But that’s what we said four years ago, eight
years ago, 12 years ago, 16 years ago, and here we are.
The worst was the COVID thinking that we can’t survive, we did survive.
If you are here, if you are listening, I want
you to realize that the most important thing in life is you.
Your body, your health, your family.
And that’s exactly where my client came,
understanding that controlling her own breathing,
controlling her own body, realizing what is
stressing her, what is creating the anxiety, and how she can manage.
Because bottom line, she went home, she hugged
her fiance and they had this wonderful time with one another.
And that’s the most important part of her day.
Because tomorrow morning, no matter what
happens, you realize that either side has already
five lawsuits against the other.
Because that’s what it’s going to happen.
And then a week from now, we get results and life will go on.
So where are you?
Each and every breath you breathe recognize that you are validating who you are.
And when asked me which side I am.
And I believe I am a conservative.
I believe in that level.
And yet as a woman, I believe that we have the rights on our
body and what we do with our body and where that’s where I stand.
So am I here?
Am I there?
I am here.
I believe in the things that is right for the person.
And that’s how I take each and every session with no judgment for my client.
And it doesn’t matter if they are doing, it’s
like saying, how come you are not judging
when they are doing something that is destroying
their body because it is not for me to judge.
If what they have been doing has helped them to get where they are here and now.
And now they are ready to make the change for
the healthier, for the better, not because.
Someone sets up.
But because that habit and behavior, it’s no longer working for them.
And it’s not enhancing their health and their life.
And that’s why they are here for me to help them.
You see, the work of the hypnotherapy and I’m
going to be quite honest in saying this is helping
you manage your body, your mind, your psyche, your energy, your emotions.
Which is the feeling and the motion of what you do for you.
And I helped her get in touch with herself to
manage her anxiety, her stress level, acknowledge
where her stress is coming and realizing at the end of the day she looked and the boys
were having a cigar together and here she was feeling more of the stress.
And that’s where she was upset.
It’s like at the end they sat down and they were having cigars together, had drank.
A cigar and here I am feeling a lot of stress.
And yeah, because as women we take the stress
in a whole different way than men do and
that’s a fact, they can argue, they can fight
and they can still, most of them come and
have a conversation with each other and we hold on to it.
And then we take it on wanting to make it better for the rest of the time.
And we have to be at real life, do the best for now.
And what if you can just sit back and just for today, find a way to calm yourself.
As if watching a whole thing, you can get heated, you can get excited, it’s watching
a game and you know celebrate your decisions
and realize no matter which way where one will win, one will not.
And I hate to be in anyone’s shoes today.
But just like getting on the phone and getting
off the phone I even think that person.
Is acknowledging understanding how to manage my own stress.
And by thanking her, she thanked me.
She said thank you for not being upset and angry.
Once I understand the things you know, once
you understand how to go back, once you have
a feeling that things are threatening my own
things, when you are being upset, that way
you could put the palm, I mean your finger at the palm of your hand and just kindly,
even when you are going through anxiety and stress, breathe through it and just massage
this, then you are truly massaging the core of
your body with the thumb which is the mind factor.
This is the mind, this is the head, this is
the mind, that’s why when we do this pressure
point we also affect our sinuses and this is the whole mind and body connected.
And easily and gently even if you do this, you are bringing this concentration of mind
and body imbalance, the circle, creating a balance, creating a Harmony.
And when you put them together and hear this
at the top, in and you gently massage, you
are massaging your entire psyche, mind and body.
Without realizing you are relaxing the body every nerve and every muscle, every organ,
reach issue and appreciate that you can
express, appreciate yourself for having a voice,
appreciate the person and agree to disagree.
And without you are saying as one human to another human, I may disagree with your
points with your views and here I am.
I will never have a fight with you because
of your own opinions and what you stand for.
If you are a family, your family values, your
families, health, vitality and inner Harmony
especially within your body matters more than anything.
So the thing that I can say is realizing
that with each and every step that you take,
you have the power to make a difference.
I am so honored to have been called a week ago and I got printed, I was interviewed on
Washington Post about how hypnotherapy can help someone manage their stress.
Why?
If you are not into the subconscious level
and if there is a stress hormone, the cortisol
and everything that can relax, we can do that.
We have full control on our not only conscious level but subconscious level.
Have a piece of chocolate and realize that you can also bring that sugar to sweetness
can relax you.
I was published on Washington Post after 20
minutes of interview, I only got two paragraphs
but the two paragraphs on being on Washington
Post a day before the election is amazing.
And I thanked the journalist, she is an award
winning journalist for selecting me and having
me speak on such a matter that it is all about
stress and anxiety and how you can manage
your own.
My own means if you want to have a session, I am also giving you this text 8, text
relax to 818-221-2797.
My promise to you to give you this relaxation
audio recording narrated by me, again text
relax to 818-221-2797 and you get this audio
recording that you can listen to at the comfort
of your home, you can give it to someone who
is going, their anxiety is going to their roof and by all means here is one thing.
When someone is really stressed out, make sure you are not telling them relax because
At that moment it is like this thing and this thing what they are feeling.
You can easily say it is okay.
Just call yourself down.
You can call your nerves, find a way to call
your nerves, stop telling them relax because that is like telling them off.
You know if you relax you can have a whole, enjoy the process and listen much better.
I remember watching the football games, the soccer games with my father.
Oh my god, it was the most amazing thing.
Especially with football, he had his favorite
teams and we would watch the football game
and he would get so heated and everything and
we had to make sure that my mom was not in
the house because we would really get all worked up about it.
And then at the end he would huff and puff and everything and he says okay.
So today my team lost, we are going to win next time and that is the attitude.
Realizing that in life there is the winners and
the losers, there is the gifted and not, there is the good, bad, but what are those?
Nothing, a title and labels.
We all are one, we are human with full emotions.
So if you can manage your arm, it can help
someone else manage theirs and celebrate life
and know no matter which spectrum you are today.
When you sleep tonight, you are one with you and the one above.
I hope today’s message was beneficial to you and I am going to put some message, you
can go to my blog on www.aliseupupinary.com and
check my blogs even right here on Facebook on
the Hill Within page which is my business page.
And if I can help you, these stress change
your habit, change your behavior that you no longer want, no need.
Let me know.
Can happen as quickly as this.
Until next week God bless you, made a universal light, surround you always.
Bye bye.
